Duncan Davidson
Lead Pastor
Duncan is the lead pastor of The Journey Church. He has been in fulltime ministry since 1999 and has lived on the central coast during that time. He graduated from UC Riverside with a BA in English and graduated from International School of Theology (a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ) with a M.Div.
Duncan's passion in ministry is helping men and women be transformed by the power of God's love and a relationship with Jesus. He is committed to not only the study of the bible, but also leadership development and church multiplication. Duncan is also the host of Life Matters, a radio show that airs every Monday thru Thursday at 4 pm on 90.5 FM.
He met his wife Laura at a bible study in UC Riverside and they were married in 1996. After graduating from seminary, they moved to Morro Bay where they took over a small church and restarted it as Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship. They have three children: Hope, Jakob and Faith.
Sarah Mahan
Sunday School Director
As a wife with no children, Sarah Mahan never intended to teach Sunday school. Then again, she didn't understand the joy she felt when she began teaching fourth and fifth graders at church. But that joy was the blessing that came from using the gifts God created her with.
Sarah's drive to serve began when she became a licensed psychiatric technician. Her gift of helps coupled with the gift of administration gave way to the challenging calling of the children's ministry.
Sarah sums up her purpose this way: "Children need to know how much Jesus loves them. I believe that children long to learn about their Creator and how to worship Jesus more than just playing games and making crafts, although those activities are necessary in the development of small minds."
Sarah has been married to her husband Pat for over two years.
Pat Mahan
Worship Director
Worship leader Pat Mahan strongly believes in using his skills and abilities to serve God and others.
A musician for over three decades, Pat discovered his calling into the music ministry in 2004. He has been actively involved with worship ever since.
Pat's passion is to encourage people to grasp the divine greatness and majesty of our Creator, to whom we respond with praise. Pat is driven to demonstrate by example true worship as a lifestyle, not just a music style.
"When I accepted Christ, my understanding and motive for making music completely changed" says Pat. "The Lord strongly impressed upon me that this gift of music was made for His pleasure and for His glory, not my own".
Pat is happily married to his wife Sarah, and considers it pure joy to be a servant of Jesus Christ.
